“Peanut Butter and Jelly” and “Turkey and Swiss on Rye”

The idea here is that a book is like a sandwich, with covers on either end, and filling in between. These books are a silly meditation on the ways that ordinary objects echo each other in unexpected ways. Images are photographic C-prints mounted (front and back) on board (and then painstakingly cut out with an x-acto knife). Covers are made from actual sandwich bags, with a plastic pocket inside to hold the pages/sandwiches. I make a lot of serious art, but sometimes it’s fun to make something that’s just, well, fun.
